Description of the specialty:
The specialty involves an in-depth study of international law and the legal regulation of international relations.
The aim of the curriculum is training lawyers with a theoretical knowledge base and applied skills, capable not only of demonstrating leadership qualities, but also of working in a team, professionally solving complex tasks, in an international environment as well. The central place is given to the study of the main general theoretical and branch-wise legal disciplines, taught on the basis of the comparative legal approach. The completion of the specialty course provides an in-depth study of public international and private international law, as well as foreign law. During their studies, students participate in project, research and expert work in the field of national and international law. Students actively participate and achieve success in the most prestigious international and national law competitions: International Commercial Arbitration named after W. Vis; International Public Law contest named after Ph. Jessup; the Model of the European Court of Human Rights; the Model of the International Criminal Court; and many others. Due to the constant expansion of international contacts, students have the opportunity to study at partner universities.

Taking into account the command of two foreign languages, students should be able to work at the Foreign Economic Departments of any company.
For the last 15 years, our University has been the host for “Youth for Peace”, currently, the "Nuremberg Trial" –
International Law Olympiad, the unique competition, having no counterparts in Eastern Europe and the CIS, and being one of the three most prestigious European competitions in International Law. The participants must demonstrate high level of knowledge in International Humanitarian Law, Public International Law and Human Rights Law, also they must possess the ability to control and handle the specific situations. The Olympiad models real-life situations that arise during armed conflicts, providing an excellent opportunity for students to improve their knowledge in the field of International Humanitarian Law.
